Why study TC-L5 at BGTC?

The CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling is a one-year, part-time qualification designed for qualified counsellors looking to deepen their clinical practice and expand their work into independent and more complex settings.

Building on the foundations of Level 4, this advanced course equips learners with the theoretical understanding, ethical grounding, and therapeutic skills needed to work at greater depth with a wider range of clients. It supports counsellors in developing their own integrative approach, rooted in reflective practice and supported by robust clinical supervision.

Throughout the course, students engage in advanced experiential learning, case study work, personal development, and group process. Emphasis is placed on working relationally, understanding the dynamics of long-term therapy, and exploring specialist areas such as trauma, diversity, and attachment.

Our PC-L5 learners bring rich life and professional experience, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The course is both intellectually and personally rigorous, offering the space and challenge needed for meaningful growth.

Graduates of this course are able to work independently as psychotherapeutic counsellors and are well-prepared for private practice or leadership roles within agency settings. At BGTC, we are proud to support their continued journey and witness their transformation into confident, ethical, and reflective practitioners.
